MobiLoud vs the alternatives

An app as polished as your site

Luxury brands aren't built to squeeze into a template. But a custom app is overkill. MobiLoud is the sweet spot; everything you need, none of what you don't.

MobiLoud

  • Built on your existing store, pixel for pixel
  • Editorial, appointments and gifting, working from launch
  • Collections published once, where you publish them now
  • Monthly pricing, no revenue share
  • Live in 2 to 4 weeks

Template app builders

  • Your brand fitted into their layouts
  • Campaign films and editorial squeezed into templates
  • Every collection merchandised again in their tool
  • Some charge 1.75 to 2.5% of in-app sales
  • Quick to launch, if your store is a standard one

Custom native

  • A new app built from scratch on your store's APIs
  • Appointment and gifting tools rebuilt one by one
  • Separate releases, testing and upkeep to fund
  • $250K to $1M+ a year, fully loaded
  • 6 to 12 months to launch

What an app gives a luxury brand

The boutique treatment, wherever your clients are

Everything your site offers your clients works in your app, from appointments to gifting. Push brings your best clients to it, with no feed or inbox in between.

Fill every private appointment and trunk show

If clients book appointments on your site, they book them in the app, with the same booking tool. When a collection reaches your boutiques or a trunk show comes to town, a push invites the clients you choose to see it in person.

Tell the story behind every piece

Campaign films, lookbooks and the craft behind a collection deserve more than a thumbnail in a crowded feed. Push opens straight to your editorial pages, shown in the app exactly as they are on your site.

Hold private sales that stay private

Public markdowns teach shoppers to wait for them. An app-only private sale reaches the clients you choose to invite, while your site stays at full price for everyone else.

The operating model

Ship a native app with your existing web team

Your team keeps working on your site, and all their work carries over to your app. You get a new native channel, without adding headcount.

Your team

Works on your site, as today

  • Campaigns and lookbooks, approved by your own creative team
  • Appointments, events and gifting, run through the tools on your site
  • Private sales and invitations, for the clients your advisors choose
  • Messages to your top clients, planned with your CRM team

Our team

Looks after everything native

  • Native iOS and Android apps, finished to your brand standards
  • Both store submissions, made from your developer accounts
  • Every iOS, Android and store-policy change, handled
  • Push configured, with advice on when and how often to send
  • A launch plan: site banners, client emails and boutique QR codes
  • Strategy and performance reviews (Enterprise)

Getting live

two to four weeks from kickoff to your customers' phones

We build, test and submit the app. Your team shares brand assets and approves each stage, so the app meets your standards before any client sees it.

  1. Week 1

    Kickoff

We agree how the app should present your brand and plan the launch with you, then you give us access to your store and developer accounts.

  2. Weeks 1 to 2

    Build and integrate

Our team sets up navigation, tab menus and push on your live store and confirms every tool on your site works in the app. You'll hold a working preview by week two.

  3. Weeks 1-2

    Customize and test

Typography, spacing and navigation are tuned to your brand, push is connected and analytics reach GA4 and Firebase. After testing on iOS and Android, you approve the result.

  4. Weeks 2 to 4

    Launch

We take the app through both store reviews, which usually last one to two weeks, and publish it under your developer accounts. Then your launch plan begins.

For the people who sign it off

We can deliver everything your legal, security and finance teams will ask for:

  • Data Processing Agreement and GDPR documentation
  • An SLA with 24/7 support and an uptime commitment (Enterprise)
  • Custom contracts, redlines and payment terms
  • Payment by invoice or bank transfer
  • Customer data stays in your store's own systems

Book a call
Will the app meet our brand standards?

Yes. The app is built on your live store, so your typography, imagery and layouts appear exactly as they do on your site. Where something should differ in the app, like spacing or an element that only makes sense on desktop, our team adjusts it for the app without changing your site, and you approve the result before launch.

Do our appointment, gifting and concierge tools work in the app?

Yes, if they work on your mobile site. Appointment booking, event sign-ups, gift options, virtual styling and concierge chat are part of your pages, so they appear in the app just as they do on the web.

Is this a real native app?

Yes. Clients find it in the App Store and Google Play, listed under your own developer accounts. It's built on your live site, with a native layer on top: tab bar and navigation, push notifications, persistent login, social sign-in and deep links. John Varvatos's app is rated 4.9 out of 5.

Our best clients are a small group. Is an app worth it?

A small group of loyal clients is exactly who an app is for. They're the people who install it and keep it on their home screen, where your push reaches them directly. At Junior Couture, only about 5% of users are on the app, but they generate around 50% of sales at peak season.

How much work is it for our team?

Little beyond what your team does today. In week one, you agree with us how the app should present your brand, share your brand assets and give us access to your store and developer accounts. You approve each stage after that, with a final sign-off once the app is tested in weeks one and two. Your web team also adds two small files we provide, so links to your site open in the app. After launch, your team keeps working on your site, and we handle the native build, every iOS and Android update and both app stores.

Can we hold private sales for app users only?

Yes. Private sales, early access and app-only pieces are set up on your own store, the same way you set up any restricted collection or promotion. MobiLoud includes a JavaScript library that tells your site when a page is loading inside the app, so you can show, hide or change anything for app users.

Can the app serve clients in several countries?

Yes. International checkout tools like Global-e keep working, and each region can have its own app, or one app can serve several markets with a menu, push and onboarding for each. Moda di Andrea's app works in all seven languages of its store. Multi-language and multi-region setups are part of the Enterprise plan.

Do links to our site open in the app?

Yes, for clients who have the app. We set up universal links on iOS and app links on Android, so a link in your client emails, a message from a client advisor or a QR code on a printed invitation opens the matching page in the app. Everyone else sees your mobile site as usual, and your web team only needs to add two small files we provide.

How do luxury brands use push notifications?

Sparingly, and for moments that matter to their clients: an invitation to a trunk show or private appointment, a private sale, a new campaign film, and gifting reminders before the holidays. Every message can carry an image and open straight to the right page. Push is sent from your own OneSignal account, or from Klaviyo on the Enterprise plan, and our team sets it up with you.

Which ecommerce platforms does MobiLoud work with?

Shopify, Shopify Plus, Magento and Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Shopware, PrestaShop and custom platforms. John Varvatos's app is built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Tadashi Shoji's on Magento and Moda di Andrea's on PrestaShop.

How long does it take to launch?

Most brands are live in 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff: setup in week one, build and testing in weeks one and two, followed by app store submission and review. If a collection launch is coming, we time the release for it.

How do we get clients to download the app?

We help you plan the launch: an install banner on your mobile site, a note to your client list, social posts, and QR codes on your packaging. Client advisors can mention it in your boutiques, and an app-only private sale gives clients a reason to install.

What does a MobiLoud app cost?

The Business plan is $1,499 a month, or $1,274 a month billed annually, plus a one-time app development and submission fee, with up to 10,000 monthly active users included. Enterprise is custom-priced. Neither plan takes a share of revenue, so what you pay does not change with what the app sells.

Who owns the app and the App Store listing?

You do. Your house owns the listings, ratings, installs, analytics and client data, because the app is published under your own Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts. MobiLoud keeps the IP in the platform that builds the app, and if you move on, your listings and clients stay with you.
