Why home and kitchen brands launch an app

Stay close through every decision

Your customers save a piece, measure the room and come back more than once before they buy. Your app is there through all of it, and push brings them back for the next piece once the first is delivered.

Turn saved pieces into orders

A customer who saves a sofa or a set of pans is telling you what they want. When that piece is back in stock or goes on sale, a push takes them straight back to it.

Win back big-ticket carts

Big-ticket carts get left while customers measure the room or check with someone at home. A reminder brings them back to the exact items, one tap from checkout. If you send swatches, time it for the day they arrive.

Make each new season an event

Push puts every new collection on the lock screen the day it goes live, and app users can get the first look before anyone else.

Sell the rest of the room

The sofa is only the start. Your app stays on the home screen after delivery, so push can bring customers back for the rug and lamp that finish the room, and again when they start the next one.

The proof

An app your customers keep coming back to

When customers love the way you style a home, an app gives them a direct line to you between visits.

"People actually prefer using the app to shop and filter products. Just like I prefer using Wayfair's app over their website because the filtering works better, our customers find our app easier to navigate than the website."

Built on your site

Your whole showroom, in the app

Your site does a lot of the selling on a big purchase, from the first inspiration to the final delivery details. MobiLoud builds your app on that site, so all of it is there in the app from launch.

Room galleries and lookbooks

Styled rooms, shoppable lookbooks and inspiration pages, exactly as they appear on your site.

Product configurators

If customers can build a sofa or choose a finish on your site, they can in the app too, made-to-order options included.

Swatch and sample orders

If you send swatches or samples, customers can order them in the app, just as they do on your site.

Wishlists and saved items

Wishlists tied to customer accounts, so pieces saved on the web are waiting in the app.

Trade and designer accounts

If you run a trade program, designers sign in to the same accounts and see the same trade pricing in the app.

Financing and protection plans

Affirm, Klarna and Shop Pay Installments for larger orders, and protection plans from Extend or Mulberry, as they work on your checkout today.

Delivery options

Freight and white-glove delivery, delivery dates and store pickup, set up the way they are on your store.

Order tracking

Tracking pages from Narvar, AfterShip or Route, for orders that take a while to arrive.

Works with tools like:

Affirm Klarna Extend Mulberry Yotpo Narvar Route Klaviyo

MobiLoud vs the alternatives

An app that shows your products at their best

A considered purchase deserves more than a template, and a custom build means a big bill and a long wait. MobiLoud gives you an app that does your products justice, in weeks.

MobiLoud

  • Built on the store customers browse today
  • Room galleries, configurators and swatches included
  • New collections live on your site and app together
  • Monthly pricing, no revenue share
  • Live in 2 to 4 weeks

Template app builders

  • Your catalog rebuilt in a separate tool
  • Product detail limited to their layouts
  • Seasonal edits set up again in their tool
  • Some charge 1.75 to 2.5% of in-app sales
  • Financing and delivery tools may not be supported

Custom native

  • A new app coded against your store's APIs
  • Swatches, financing and delivery rebuilt one by one
  • Its own codebase, releases and testing to fund
  • $250K to $1M+ a year, fully loaded
  • 6 to 12 months to launch

The operating model

Merchandise once, on your site

New collections, seasonal edits and sale prices go live on your site, and the app shows them straight away. Your team works the way it does now, and we handle everything native.

Your team

Keeps managing your store as usual

  • Collections and seasonal edits, published on your site
  • Product pages, swatches and pricing, managed where they are now
  • Sales and promotions, set up in your store
  • Push campaigns, planned with our team's help

Our team

Handles the native side

  • Native iOS and Android apps, built and tested for you
  • Store submissions and reviews, handled under your accounts
  • Updates for every new iOS and Android version
  • Push setup, with guidance on timing and frequency
  • An install plan for your site, emails and showrooms
  • Strategy and performance reviews (Enterprise)

Getting live

Launch in 2 to 4 weeks, before the next seasonal refresh

Our team handles the build, the testing and both store submissions. You bring your brand assets and give the final approval.

  1. Week 1

    Kickoff

We start with a call about how the app should look and work, and how you'll launch it. Then you give us access to your store and developer accounts.

  2. Weeks 1 to 2

    Build and integrate

We build on your live store, adding the tab bar, navigation and push, with every tool on your site in place. A working preview is on your phone by week two.

  3. Weeks 1-2

    Customize and test

Our team styles the app to your brand, sets up push in your account and links analytics to GA4 and Firebase. After testing on iOS and Android, it's yours to approve.

  4. Weeks 2 to 4

    Launch

Both store reviews are ours to manage, and they typically take one to two weeks. The app goes out under your developer accounts, and your launch plan starts the same day.

For the people who sign it off

We can deliver everything your legal, security and finance teams will ask for:

  • Data Processing Agreement and GDPR documentation
  • An SLA with 24/7 support and an uptime commitment (Enterprise)
  • Custom contracts, redlines and payment terms
  • Payment by invoice or bank transfer
  • Customer data stays in your store's own systems

Questions from home and kitchen brands

Have any more questions we didn't answer? Book a 30-minute call or send us a message to clear it all up.

Book a call
We only sell once or twice a year. Is an app worth it?

Yes, because most of an app's work happens between orders. While customers save pieces, order swatches and come back to compare, your app keeps you one tap away. After delivery, it brings them back for the pieces that finish the room, and later for the next room. And push lands on the lock screen, so a restock or a new collection gets seen instead of getting lost in the inbox.

Do configurators and swatch orders work in the app?

Yes, where your site has them. The app runs your live site, so product configurators, made-to-order options and swatch or sample orders work exactly as they do on the web, from the first choice through to checkout. Nothing is rebuilt for the app.

Do room galleries and dimension drawings look right in the app?

Yes. The app is built on your live store, so swatches, dimension drawings, room galleries and product video appear exactly as they do on your site. If something should look different in the app, like spacing or an element that only suits desktop, our team adjusts it for the app without changing your site.

Can customers use financing in the app?

Yes. The financing options on your checkout today, such as Affirm, Klarna or Shop Pay Installments, work in the app the same way, and so do protection plans and delivery options.

Will wishlists work across web and app?

Yes, when your wishlist is saved to customer accounts. Customers stay signed in to the app, so anything they saved on your site is there when they open it, and the other way around.

Is this a real native app?

Yes, and it lives in the App Store and Google Play under your own developer accounts. It's built on your live site, with a native layer added on top: tab bar and navigation, push notifications, persistent login, social sign-in and deep links. We've published more than 2,000 apps since 2013.

Do links to our site open in the app?

Yes, for customers who have your app installed. We set up universal links on iOS and app links on Android, so a link in an email or a message opens the right product or room in your app, and anyone without the app sees your mobile site as usual. Your web team adds two small setup files to your site, which we provide.

How do home and kitchen brands use push notifications?

To announce seasonal collections and new arrivals, bring shoppers back to items they saved or left in their cart, follow up when swatches arrive, alert them when a popular piece is back in stock, and suggest the pieces that finish a room. Every message can carry a product image and open straight to the right page. Push is sent from your own OneSignal account, or from Klaviyo on the Enterprise plan, and our team sets it up during onboarding.

Which ecommerce platforms does MobiLoud work with?

Shopify, Shopify Plus, Magento and Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Shopware, PrestaShop and custom platforms. HouseFloral's app is built on its Shopify store.

We have showrooms. Can the app help there?

Yes. QR codes in your showrooms and on packaging send visitors straight to the app, and an app-only offer gives them a reason to install before they leave. Store pages, opening hours and appointment booking on your site all work in the app too.

How long does it take to launch?

two to four weeks from kickoff for most brands: setup in week one, build and testing in weeks one and two, followed by app store submission and review. If a seasonal launch is coming, we plan around it.

How do we get customers to download the app?

We help you plan the launch: an install banner on your mobile site, an announcement to your email list, social posts and QR codes in showrooms and on packaging. An app-only offer, like early access to your next collection, gives customers a reason to install.

What does a MobiLoud app cost?

The Business plan is $1,499 a month, or $1,274 a month billed annually, plus a one-time app development and submission fee, with up to 10,000 monthly active users included. Enterprise is custom-priced. Neither plan takes a share of revenue, so what you pay does not change with what the app sells.

Who owns the app and the App Store listing?

You do. The app goes out under your own Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts, so the listings, ratings, installs, analytics and customer data are yours. MobiLoud keeps the IP in the platform that builds the app. If you move on, you keep your listings and your users.
